Best wedding seating chart apps (2026): an honest comparison

Last updated October 17, 2026

In short: For a couple planning one wedding on iPhone or iPad without a subscription, Headtable is free for up to 50 seated guests and Headtable Pro is a one-time US$12.99. If your guest list already lives on Zola, Zola's seating chart pulls it in, free for up to 15 guests. Seat Puzzle draws the most detailed floor plans, on every platform, by subscription. PlanWed suits couples who want an all-in-one planner on Android, iPhone and the web. Seatsy is a low-cost iPhone and iPad option with spreadsheet-style editing. Prismm (AllSeated) no longer takes new events, and The Knot centers on the guest list and RSVPs rather than a seating chart builder.

Who each app is best for

Headtable: couples and hosts planning one event on iPhone or iPad

Headtable does the seating job end to end: the guest list with groups, meals and dietary needs, a canvas with round, oval, square, head, sweetheart and long banquet tables, keep-together and keep-apart rules with an Auto-arrange that respects them, RSVPs by private link, and a print pack for the day. It works offline, needs no account, and Headtable Pro is paid once. It isn't for Android, a computer or CAD drawings.

Seat Puzzle: planners who need detailed floor plans on every device

Seat Puzzle draws floor plans up to 500 by 500 feet with walls, doors, windows and a large item library, runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and the web, and shares events with view-only or editable links. Its App Store listing says professionals use it to manage events for all their clients. It's a subscription, which suits someone planning events all year. Read Headtable vs. Seat Puzzle.

Zola: couples whose guest list is already on Zola

Zola's seating chart pulls in your Zola guest list, so there's nothing to import, and downloads as a PDF or Excel file. It runs in the Zola iOS app and on a computer, and is free for up to 15 guests, with a Premium unlock for more.

The Knot: the guest list and RSVPs, with a separate seating tool

The Knot's free guest list tracks RSVPs and meal choices and downloads as a spreadsheet, and its website offers printable seating chart templates. We couldn't confirm a drag-and-drop seating chart builder on The Knot's website, although its App Store listing mentions seating arrangements, so check your Knot dashboard. Many couples keep The Knot for the website and RSVPs and import the guest list into a seating app.

PlanWed: an all-in-one planner on Android, iPhone and the web

PlanWed puts the budget, checklist, wedding website with RSVPs, timeline and seating chart in one plan that two partners edit in real time. Its free plan seats 10 guests with one table per shape; the full seating chart and exports need Premium, a subscription.

Seatsy: spreadsheet-style editing on iPhone and iPad

Seatsy pairs a floor planner with a spreadsheet mode for editing many guests at once, imports CSV, TSV and XLSX files, works offline without an account, and can sync to a Mac through iCloud. It has a free starter plan, and paid plans from US$0.99 a week to a US$19.99 lifetime purchase.

AllSeated / Prismm: existing events only

Prismm, formerly AllSeated, stopped taking new events in September 2026, and venues move to Cvent Event Diagramming. Couples with a Prismm event can read how to move to Headtable.

How we compared

We read each app's US App Store page and its official website on October 17, 2026 and list only what they state. We didn't buy the other apps' paid plans, so where a vendor doesn't publish something, such as the limits of a free demo, the table says "—". Headtable's facts come from its own App Store listing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best wedding seating chart app for iPhone?

It depends on how you plan. For a couple planning one wedding on iPhone or iPad without a subscription, Headtable is free for up to 50 seated guests and Headtable Pro is a one-time purchase (we make Headtable, so weigh that). If your guest list is already on Zola, Zola's seating chart pulls it in and is free for up to 15 guests. For detailed floor plans on every device, Seat Puzzle is a subscription built for planners.

Is there a free wedding seating chart app?

Yes, with limits. Headtable seats up to 50 guests for free, with an unlimited guest list and the chart as a PDF. Zola's seating chart is free for up to 15 guests, and PlanWed's free plan seats 10. The Knot's guest list and RSVP tracking are free, with printable seating chart templates.

Which seating chart apps have no subscription?

Headtable Pro is a one-time purchase (US$12.99 in the US; prices vary by country). Seatsy offers a US$19.99 lifetime purchase next to its weekly, monthly and yearly plans. Seat Puzzle and PlanWed Premium are subscriptions.

Is there a seating chart app for Android?

Seat Puzzle and PlanWed have Android apps, and both also run in a web browser. Zola's seating chart works in the Zola iOS app and on a computer. Headtable runs on iPhone and iPad only.

Does The Knot have a seating chart tool?

The Knot offers a free guest list with RSVP tracking and printable seating chart templates. What happened to AllSeated?

AllSeated renamed itself Prismm, and Cvent later acquired it. Since September 2026 new events can only be created in Cvent Event Diagramming; existing Prismm events can be edited through June 2027.

Which seating chart app is best for wedding planners and venues?

Professionals who lay out events for clients all year are better served by Seat Puzzle, with detailed floor plans on every platform, or by Cvent Event Diagramming, Prismm's replacement for venues. Headtable is made for people planning their own event.
